After hours of traveling drama, I have finally reached Arequipa, Peru and yes I am safe and sound. Now one cannot not have all that traveling drama and arrive unscathed...basically, my large luggage is missing and American Airlines THINKS that my bag is chilling in Dallas, which was my original connecting point but when the plan broke down I was switched to Miami and my bag was not alerted of this change. So I should be able to get my bag in 4-5 days. Luckily, I remembered to pack some clothes in my carry on.
I met some really nice people during my travels. Especially, a woman by the name of Gloria who was teaching me Spanish vocabulary words on the plane and made sure I was taken care of during the flight to Arequipa and once I got off the plane.
I am currently sitting in the living room of Larissa and Kyle Smith, they are one of the host families here in Arequipa. Also with us are two other interns by the names of Kayla and Parker. Kayla goes to Oklahoma Christian University and Parker goes to Harding University.
